Edward B. Borc

Edward B. Borc, 90, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Sunday November 6, 2011, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of the late Susie T. LaRovera Borc. 

Mr. Borc was born in Shelton on April 3, 1921, son of the late Thomas and Caroline Borc. He was a graduate of Shelton High School and later from Bridgeport University. A lifelong Valley resident, he was employed as a chemist at the former B.F. Goodrich in Derby. There, he met his wife. He was also a bartender at the former Rapp’s Paradise Inn in Ansonia for many years. A proud veteran, he honorably served during WW 2 in the U.S. Army and was a P.O.W. in Germany. He was awarded the prestigious Purple Heart and P.O.W. Medals. 

He is survived by a devoted son, Thomas E. Borc of Miami Beach, FL, a brother, Arnold Borc of Scranton, PA, a brother in law, Edward LaRovera of Ansonia, a sister in law, Alice LaRovera of Derby, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Carolyn Edwards and a sister, Jeanina Hylwa. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday November 12, 2011, at 9:30 am, at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia, for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visitation will be held on SATURDAY MORNING from 8:00 am until the procession leaves for church at the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
