Edward F. Brennison, age 90 of Seymour, beloved husband of the late Jean (Wishneski) Brennison, entered peaceful rest on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at his residence in Woodbridge, with family by his side. Born in Bristol on July 16, 1934, he was the son of the late Edward and Doris (Mihlik) Brennison.
Edward served in the US Army as an instructor of helicopter maintenance with superior performance and later retired from the Navy Office partnership with Sikorsky Aircraft where he served as Supervisory Aeronautical Engineer. He had a passion for mechanical engineering and held master’s degrees in engineering and law.
Edward enjoyed antiquing, woodworking, photography, travel, and loved the outdoors. He built guitars, restored antique books, and loved learning about US history. As a devoted Christian and former pastor of Living Springs Christian Fellowship of Seymour, and later a member of Cornerstone Church of Oxford, Edward provided support to his community through his compassion and commitment for those in need.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Cindy Carlson and her husband Mark of Seymour; four cherished grandchildren, Tim and Peter Carlson, and Heather and Holly Brennison, as well as his adored great-grandson, Nicholas Fortier. Edward was predeceased by his son Edward “Scott” Brennison. As a father, grandfather and great grandfather, he will be greatly missed by his family who hold his memory closely in their hearts.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family from 4pm to 6pm on Wednesday, March 12, 2025 in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St. Seymour, CT 06483. Funeral services will be held directly at 6pm in the funeral home. Interment will be at the convenience of the family.
