Edward J. Witkowski, age 58 of Derby, entered into eternal rest on May 3, 2012 in Griffin Hospital. He was a lifelong member of the Lower Naugatuck Valley community.
Edward was born on Dec. 12, 1953 in Derby, to Mary I. (Iwaniec) Witkowski and the late Edward V. Witkowski. A graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, he was employed as a truck driver by both Housatonic Lumber and BFI until his accident.
Edward is the caring brother of Mary Jane Zuonek and her husband Frank of Shelton, Barbara Kawecki and her husband David of North Carolina, and David Witkowski and his wife Karen of Milford. He is also survived by 4 nephews, 1 niece, 1 great niece, and 1 great nephew.
His family would like to thank all the healthcare providers and friends who helped make Ed’s life easier through the years.
Friends may call on Sunday from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. His funeral procession will leave the funeral home on Monday at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Michael Church, Derby. Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, Derby.
