Edward M. Baclawski, age 34, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday afternoon, November 23, 2019, at Griffin Hospital, with his loving family by his side, following a short illness.
Edward was born in New Haven on June 18, 1985, beloved son of Edward L. and Marguerite Coppola Baclawski of Derby. A lifelong resident of the Derby community, he graduated from Derby High School and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of New Haven.
He was employed as a Public Safety Officer at Fairfield University for nine years. He served as Chief of the Lake Housatonic Authority Lake Patrol and was an Emergency Medical Technician in Derby and in Fairfield. He was a member of East End Hose Co. #3 and Storm Ambulance Corp. in Derby. Ed always helped others in need, enjoyed hiking and was a railroad “rail fan”.
In addition to his parents Edward and Marguerite, he leaves to cherish his memory, a sister, Christina Baclawski of Derby, maternal grandmother, Dolores Maturo Coppola of Derby and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday December 1, 2019, from 2:00 to 5:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
On Monday December 2, 2019, relatives and friends are asked to meet directly at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church, 10 Father Salemi Drive in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
