Eileen Carney Pastore, age 93, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday April 7, 2020. Eileen was born January 28 1927 in Derby, and was a lifetime resident of Shelton, where she attended St. Joseph grammar school and graduated from Shelton High School and was married to the love-of-her- life John (Jack) Anthony Pastore.
Eileen was in the forefront of the women’s movement when in 1958 she became the only female parts manager in the state for General Motors at Sinsabaugh Cadillac Oldsmobile. She subsequently retired after 25 years from Dworkin Chevrolet in Derby at age 75. Eileen enjoyed her retirement years regaling her family with stories of old Shelton and lunching with her friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Pamela L Pastore, Leslie A Pastore Heffern Bokina (Craig) and Debra Ann Pastore Wigglesworth (Richard). Eileen was a doting grandmother to seven grandchildren: Michael D’Amaro (Theresa), Amy D’Amaro, Troy Heffern (Melissa), Stacy Heffern (Curvin O’Reilly III), Ashley Heffern, Richard Wigglesworth and Koran Wigglesworth. She was particularly proud of her five great grandchildren, Tyler D’Amaro (Morgan Irving), Jacob Heffern, Sawyer Heffern, Sloane Heffern, and Curvin O’Reilly IV and she was eagerly awaiting the birth of her first great great grandson, Cole Daniel D’Amaro. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her Lorraine Matyjasik.
Her Burial with immediate family was held in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a date to be announced in St. Lawrence Church, 505 Shelton Ave. Shelton. The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton are entrusted with the arrangements.
