Eleanor S. Sierdy of Shelton entered into rest on Friday, August 23, 2024, at the age of 94 in Bridgeport Hospital.
She was born in Bridgeport, on September 18, 1929, the daughter of the late Gould and Margaret (Plumb) Shelton. Sister of the late John Shelton and Lewis Shelton.
Eleanor was the devoted wife of the late Gabriel Sierdy and the beloved mother of Christine Johnson and Diane Stilwell. And her son-in-law, Robert Johnson.
She was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft before becoming a stay-at-home Mom raising her two daughters. Once they finished high school, she began working for Hometown Publications, a job she enjoyed for many years and made lots of friends there until her retirement.
Both She and Gabe were avid tennis players who played frequently with friends and neighbors on their backyard tennis court.
She enjoyed listening to piano music and played the piano often at home. She liked to sing along to tunes like “Close to You” and “Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head”.
She liked to read mystery novels and loved the family pets, Minnie and Max, the giant dog.
She was a beautiful person who will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her.
The Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., has been entrusted with her arrangements.
