Elizabeth “Betty” Simonetti, age 94, of Shelton, entered into eternal rest on Monday, February 10, 2025 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was the devoted wife of the late Geaton “Tom” Simonetti.
She was born in Shelton on July 15, 1930, daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Anaclerio) Pagliaro, Sr., raised her family in Shelton, then moved to Woodbridge and Ansonia before returning back to Shelton.
Betty, along with her husband, operated several nursing homes in the area; Long Hill Nursing Home in Shelton, Marshall Lane Manor in Derby, and Clintonville Manor in North Haven. Her superb organizational skills, along with being a stellar bookkeeper, made her a trailblazer in business.
Betty was very devout catholic and attended daily mass. She loved to travel the world with her husband. She was a devoted wife and mother who especially loved her grandchildren.
She is the beloved mother of Anthony (Janice) Simonetti, Deborah Simonetti, Daniel Simonetti, Joan Simonetti, and Melissa Simonetti. She also leaves three cherished grandchildren, Thomas Simonetti, Nickolas (Ashlie) Simonetti, and Natalie Subbloie, two great-grandchildren, Luca and Anthony Simonetti, two sisters, Esther (Carl) Sylvester and Rosemarie (Ed) Sheehy, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by an infant son, Thomas, and her two brothers, Frank Pagliaro, Jr. and Joseph Pagliaro, Sr.
Friends may greet her family on Friday, February 14, 2025 from 4 to 7 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd. Shelton. Her procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 9:15 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Joseph Church, Shelton. Burial will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
