Elizabeth J. Casey, age 92, entered into eternal rest in the early morning hours of April 20, 2020, at Shady Knoll Health Center in Seymour. She was the beloved wife of the late William J. Casey.
Mrs. Casey was born in Wilkes-Barre, PA on September 8, 1927, daughter of the late Arthur Evans and Elizabeth Jenkins Matyas. A resident of Ansonia for many years, she was employed as a photo developer at Rasbach Photo and later Life Touch Studios until her retirement. Following retirement, she was a nanny for two of the most wonderful families that always kept her in their hearts. Betty enjoyed walking along the West Haven beach, trips to the Poconos and of course her love for western movies, especially ones starring John Wayne.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving son, William M. Casey of Ansonia, a loving daughter, Gail E. Casey (Jim Williams) of Seymour, granddaughter, Sherry Beriet (Adam) of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews in Georgia, Florida and Arizona. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son, Kenneth D. Casey and her brother, Arthur Evans. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the staff of Shady Knoll for being there for her, comforting her and holding her hand when family could not be there. Please stay strong and be safe!
Per the current health guidelines, her funeral service and burial will be private. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held at a later date and will be announced by the family.
