Elizabeth Palma (Guardiani) King, age 87, of Ansonia, CT, passed away peacefully at Griffin Hospital on May 8, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Donald King, Sr. Elizabeth was born in Derby, CT on January 9, 1938 to the late Thomas and Palma Guardiani. She was a graduate of Ansonia High School.
Elizabeth worked as a manicurist at Palma’s Beauty Salon, owned and operated by her mother, Palma, for many years as well as for the Naugatuck Valley Health District for several years, where she was valued for her professionalism and dedication. She was a devout communicant of the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia.
She will be fondly remembered for her love of reading, having fabulous nails, her love of travel, and her fondness for UConn Girls Basketball.
She was predeceased by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Mica (Louis) of Harwinton. Survivors include her two daughters and son, Donna Kalafut (Michael, III) of Derby, Karen Tomlinson (Peter Sr.) of Seymour, and Donald King, Jr. of Mt. Vernon, NY; her brother, Thomas Guardiani (Karen) of Naugatuck, as well as her special friend, John Urato of North Bergen, NJ. She is also survived by her nine cherished grandchildren — Ashleigh, Alexandra, and Emily Mica, Michael Kalafut, IV, Sheridan Poole (Bryan), Samantha Kalafut, Rebekah Tomlinson, Peter Tomlinson, Jr. (Lindsay), Brian Tomlinson; and her great-granddaughter, Stevie Tomlinson. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday, May 15, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. — 11:00 a.m. at The Church of the Assumption, 61 N. Cliff St., Ansonia. A Mass of Christian Burial will then be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. The burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
