Elizabeth (Burgess) Plisko, age 81, wife of the late Robert Plisko and resident of Bristol, passed away April 12 at Griffin Hospital.
She was born Nov. 14, 1934 in Bridgeport, daughter of the late George & Kate Dewgaw Burgess.
She worked for Griffin Hospital for 43 years until retirement. After retirement, Betty worked for the Derby Historical Society at the David Humphrey House and the Kellogg Estate. She enjoyed volunteering at Bristol Hospital, her church, bible study and book club.
She leaves 3 daughters, Linda Najda of Derby, Patricia DeGennaro (Joseph) of Naugatuck & Cynthia Evenski of Waterbury, 6 grandchildren, Sarah & Peter Najda, Melissa Young & husband Russell, Lauren DeGennaro and Molly & Rebecca Evenski, 3 great grandchildren R.J., Brody & Zach, 5 sisters and many nieces & nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her brother George and son-in-law’s Peter Najda & John Evenski.
The family would like to thank all the staff at Griffin Hospital who cared for our Mom. We would especially like to thank the staff on 2NA. Your kindness and efforts to keep her comfortable will remain our hearts always.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, April 23 at 10:00 a.m. at The Christ Episcopal Church, 56 S. Cliff St. Ansonia. Friends may call at church from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
