Ellen (Morse) Troy, 78, entered into eternal rest on Thursday morning, January 12, 2017, in the comfort of her home. She was the beloved wife of the late Ralph M. Troy.
Mrs. Troy was born in Derby on November 12, 1938, daughter of the late Frank and Margaret Callahan Morse. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed as an administrative assistant at Lower Naugatuck Valley Council on Alcohol and drug abuse for 22 years and later as an aide in the Ansonia School system for 9 years, until her retirement. Ellen attended Assumption School and was a graduate of Ansonia High School in 1956. She was a communicant of the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia and was a strong supporter of the Democratic Party. Ellen was an avid reader and enjoyed interior decorating and gardening.
She is survived by a loving daughter, Elizabeth Troy Zenit and her husband Thomas of Ansonia, cherished grandson, Thomas Troy Zenit of Ansonia, caring brother, Edward Morse of Derby, caring sisters, Kathleen Morse of Ansonia and Margaret Cannici and her husband Anthony of Derby and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Frank Morse.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday January 15, 2017, from 2 – 5 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Monday, her funeral will commence at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Interment will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
