Elsa Nyden, a 94 year old Shelton resident and widow of Charles Nyden, formerly of Bridgeport and co-owner of The Nyden Dept. Store, passed away Feb. 7th. She was born May 13th, 1917 in New Haven, daughter of the late Nathan Michael Tamsky & Goldie Tamsky.
She leaves to cherish her memory her three sons, David Nyden of Shelton, Marc Nyden of Germantown, Maryland & Ian “Jeff” Nyden of Vienna Virginia and her brother Joseph Tamsky of Cape Cod, Mass. she was a loving grandmother to Hollis Nyden, Melissa McCarthy, Rachel Gassert, Michelle Nyden, Joshua Nyden & Alex Nyden, and was a doting great grandmother to McKenzie McCarthy. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her two brothers, Herman & Evon Tamsky. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9th at 11:00 a.m. at The Workman’s Circle Cemetery on Reid St. in Fairfield.
