Elsie Lois Brunswick

Elsie Lois Brunswick, age 73, of Shelton, entered into rest on Saturday Aug. 24, 2013 in Bridgeport Hospital with her loving family by her side. She is the devoted wife of 55 years to Gilbert B. Brunswick.

Mrs. Brunswick was born in Strong, Maine on May 30, 1940, daughter of the late William and Elsie (Takacs) O’Donnell and has been a Shelton resident since 1971.

She was a pharmacy technician at the former Stillson Drug Store and at Lupes Drug Store in Fairfield for over 30 years. She enjoyed going to the flea market and cooking for family and friends. Her kindness and generosity touched many.

She is the beloved mother of Kenneth Brunswick and his friend Laura Paige, Gil Brunswick and his wife Connie, the late Michael Brunswick and his wife Lynda. She is the cherished grandmother of Collin, Michael, Jr., Lindsay, Christopher, Jared, and Sean.

She is the loving sister of John O’Donnell and his wife Bonnie, Catherine LaFrance, Carol LeBlanc and her husband Lester, Mary Mikita and her husband Donald. She is also survived by her two sisters-in-law of Ellie O’Donnell, and Rose O’Donnell. She also leaves a special niece Sandra Ferro and her husband Tom, her dear friends Lucille and Lenny Savoie, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Marchetti and three brothers, Robert O’Donnell, Charles O’Donnell and William O’Donnell.

Friends may greet her family on Tuesday from 4 to 7 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. On Wednesday her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 8:30 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 AM in St. Margaret Mary Church Shelton. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery Stratford.
