He also has well-loved and precious grandchildren: Kevin, Jeremy, Andrew, Matthew, Michele, Celine, Ayse, and Carmel. He was also blessed with great grandchildren: Kathryn, Kaitlyn, and Xander. He also has his sister, Carol and her husband, Bob, and his sister Linda as well as his brother John still living.

Emerson had a dear friend since second grade, Bob Romanoff, who went to trade school with him and started work at Sikorsky with him and who even retired from Sikorsky on the same day as he did. Emerson spent 41 years at Sikorsky, hired on August 9, 1955 as an assembler, then as a flight mechanic, crew chief, lead man, and finally a foreman on the Presidential Department overhaul and repair project which he was very proud of, when he retired in 1996. Emerson had many stories about his time at Sikorsky and his great friendship with Bob.

The family would like to thank the staff at Griffin Hospital and Gardner Heights for their care and concern during the last few weeks of our father’s life.
