Emilio D. Macchio

Emilio D. Macchio, 95, entered into eternal rest on January 17, 2016, in the comfort of his home. He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Falcha Macchio.

Mr. Macchio was born in Ansonia on December 19, 1920, son of the late Dominick and Virginia Cipriano Macchio. A proud veteran, he honorably served during WW 2 in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Baltimore. He was employed as a pressman for Hildreth Press in Bristol until his retirement. He was a member of the American Legion in Seymour and the Knights of Columbus in Ansonia. Mac” was an avid sports fan who enjoyed woodworking as a hobby.

He is survived by a loving son, Ronald J. Macchio and his wife Janice Dagostino of Storrs, cherished grandson, Justin Macchio of Los Angeles, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Joseph J. Macchio, brothers, Ernest, George, Julio and Joseph Macchio and sisters, Mary Guardiani and Theresa Frattalone.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Monday January 25, 2016, at 10:00 am at Good Shepherd Church in Seymour for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment with U.S. Navy military honors will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting will take place on MONDAY MORNING from 8:30 am until the procession leaves for church in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.
