Emilio DiGiusto Jr., 62, entered into eternal rest on April 3, 2016, at Griffin Hospital.
Mr. DiGiusto was born in Derby on Oct. 2, 1953, son of the late Emilio and Rose DelRosso DiGiusto Sr. At an early age, Emilio was diagnosed with Fibrodysplasia Ossificans Progressiva, a rare bone and muscle disorder, which progressively limited his mobility. Despite his illness, he enjoyed trivia, country music and watching sports.
He is survived by loving sisters, Nanda Checkley of Ansonia and Carol DiGiusto of Southbury, a cherished nephew, Christopher Checkley, a cherished niece, Lisa Checkley, both of Ansonia, an uncle, Mario DelRosso of Italy, an aunt, Gina DiGiusto of MA and several cousins. He was predeceased by a brother in law, Robert Checkley.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Friday April 8, 2016, at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will immediately follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby. Visiting will take place on FRIDAY MORNING in the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver St. in Ansonia from 8:00 am until the procession leaves for church.
