Emily (Tyburski) Cintorino

Emily (Tyburski) Cintorino, age 91, of Shelton, entered into rest on Sunday Feb. 16, 2014 in Griffin Hospital.

She was the devoted wife of 49 years to the late Peter Joe Pete” Cintorino.

She was born in Derby on July 14, 1922, daughter of the late Peter and Julia (Skiba) Tyburski and was a lifelong Shelton resident.

Emily was employed for many years at the former Hull Dye in Derby and was also a Hairdresser for many years before her retirement in 1970.

She had a green thumb and loved plants, flowers and yard work. 

Emily is the beloved mother of Jeri Swinik and her husband Joe of Seymour, Peter Cintorino and his wife Mary of Eagle, Idaho and Shirley Walker and her husband Bill of Southbury; loving grandmother of Terri Ames and her husband Fred, Susan Duke and her husband John, Scott Walker and his wife Stacey, Brian Walker, Clorissa Cintorino; great grandmother of Freddie, Autumn, and Ayden Ames, Natasha Duke, Colin and Olivia Walker, sister of Mike Mitzi” Tyburski and Helen Rossik.

She was predeceased by her brothers John and Ted Tyburski and her sisters Mary Selva, Jean Oko and Anna Stobierski. 

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the spring in Riverside Cemetery.
