Enrico Mongillo

Enrico Mongillo, age 91, entered into eternal rest on Thanksgiving morning, November 25, 2021, in the comfort of his home, with his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Grace Izzo Mongillo. 

Mr. Mongillo was born in Puglianello, Province of Benevento, Italy on September 13, 1930, son of the late Antonio and Maria Anna Mongillo. He came to the United States in September 1959 and settled in Ansonia after marrying his wife. A resident of Ansonia for many years, he was employed as a cabinet maker and later at the former Ansonia Copper & Brass for thirty-eight years, until his retirement in 1998. He was a communicant of Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia where he was a member of the Catholic Men’s Club, St. Padre Pio Prayer Group and bocce league. Enrico was a former member of the Sons of Italy in Derby and enjoyed gardening, wine making and was a true jack of all trades.” 

He leaves to cherish his memory, grandsons, Cameron T. Cirisoli (Lauren) of Ansonia, Justin H. Cirisoli (Stefan) of Naugatuck, and Noah F. Cirisoli (Karli Reynolds) of Ansonia, great-grandson, Caleb Skiparis of Ansonia, sons-in-law, Raymond A. Cirisoli of Ansonia, with whom he made his home, and Daniel H. Holt of Wethersfield, many special nieces and nephews especially his beloved niece Anna Fetta of Puglianello, Italy and her sons, Fiorgio Fetta of Hamden, and Domenico Fetta of Scandiano, Italy, and many friends especially his dear friend, Michelina Maida of Ansonia. He was predeceased by his daughters, Michele B. Holt and Mariann M. Cirisoli, brothers, Massimo, Francesco, Guido and Alfredo Mongillo and sisters, Michelina Mongillo and Candida Renzi. 

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm, in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Masks will be required for entry into the funeral home. On Tuesday, November 30, 2021, all are invited to meet directly at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial.
