Patricia L. Sosnovich

Patricia L. Sosnovich, 74, passed away Thursday, May 27 surrounded by her loving family at Griffin Hospital, following a brief illness. Married to her adoring husband and high school sweetheart, Donald of 56 years, Patricia is also survived by son Michael J. (Jean) Sosnovich of Beacon Falls; son Donald J. Sosnovich of Shelton, son Scott J. (Angela) Sosnovich of Middletown, sister Bonnie (Nick) Owen of Seymour, and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia also leaves behind the brightest lights in her life, grandchildren Zachary, Emily, Natalie, Aiden, Jordan and Tyler Sosnovich, along with her devoted, four-legged best friend, Lucy. She was predeceased by her parents Peter Red” and Olga Finkle and sister Arlene.

Born July 21, 1946 in Derby, Patricia was a devoted stay-at- home mom before embarking on a long and successful career in banking. She most recently served as branch manager of the former Naugatuck Valley Savings and Loan in Beacon Falls before retiring several years ago.

Patricia, who could light up any room with her smile, loved the beach, going to the movies, reading romance and mystery novels, soap operas, shopping, especially at Chico’s and QVC, traveling to Disney World and Ogunquit, Maine and cooking. Her lasagna and stuffed peppers were the stuff of legends.

A proud graduate of Seymour High School’s Class of 64, Patricia also loved going to the casino, and especially enjoyed watching her beloved UCONN Lady Huskies. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, where she would light up brighter than the Christmas tree when setting up her Dickens village and wrapping sky-high piles of presents for her family. Each gift pile had to be the same height or she’d run back to the store and buy more stuff just so everything was even.

Patricia’s greatest joy in life, however, was her family and large circle of friends. She treasured her role as wife, mother, grandma and friend. If you gave her love, she gave it back two-fold. She made everyone she met feel special and always put everyone’s needs above her own right until the very end. Her family and friends were blessed to have known her and will cherish Patricia’s kind-hearted nature and zest for life forever.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 2 DIRECTLY at St. Augustine Church, 35 Washington Ave, Seymour.
