Estelle C. Szewczyk, age 89, of Derby, entered into eternal rest on July 1, 2011, surrounded by love at her daughter’s residence. She was
the wife of the late Anthony P. Szewczyk.
Estelle was born in Derby on May 20, 1922, daughter of the late Joseph W. and Frances (Ziemba) Draus. She was employed as a photo etcher at Sikorsky Aircraft for 28 years and was a dedicated member of the Derby Senior Center. Estelle was also a devoted parishioner of St. Michael’s Church where she was a proud member of the Catholic War
Veterans, the Ladies Guild and the Holy Rosary Society.
She was also an avid pinochle player. Estelle devoted her life to helping family and friends.
Estelle was the loving mother of Anthony David Szewczyk and his wife Judy and Delphine Krezel and her husband Daniel; and the caring sister
of Stanley Draus. She was the loving grandmother of David, Joseph, Paul, Maryann and Peter Szewczyk and Jonathan Krezel, and great grandmother of Robert, Adam and Aidan Szewczyk and Sagan Krezel. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Estelle is predeceased by brothers Mitchell, Louis, and Henry Draus, and sisters Anna Koryzma and Mary Kozak.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. Her funeral will leave the
funeral home on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Michael’s Church, Derby. Burial will follow at St.
Michael’s Cemetery in Derby.
