Estelle Elizabeth Lobdell, who resided in Derby, CT peacefully passed with family on Sept. 28 at the age of 97.
She was born Dec. 30, 1920 in Ansonia to Robert and Jeanne Elliot Smith. She was predeceased by sisters Catherine, Phyllis, Violet, Wynne, Jean and Florence, and her brother, Walter.
Estelle was the wife of LeRoy Lobdell, married 58 years.
She worked as an Assistant Examiner in Labor Relations for Conrail. As a member of the First Baptist Church of Ansonia, she was a Deaconess, Choir member and in the Harmony Women’s Group. She also belonged to The Order of the Easter Star.
Estelle had a love for gardening and going dancing with her husband. She is survived by three children, Roy Lobdell, Fredrick “Ricky” Lobdell, & Wendy Gaynor. Estelle also enjoyed the love of seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 11 a.m. Oct. 3 at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia.
Friends may call from 9 a.m. to 11 am.
Burial to follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in Ansonia.
