Estelle J. Horbal, 94, entered into eternal rest on May 21, 2015, at Griffin Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Alton Horbal.
Mrs. Horbal was born in Ansonia on June 17, 1920, daughter of the late Benjamin and Helen Zybort Cichanowicz. She was a resident of Ansonia her entire life before moving to be with her daughter, Diane, in Southbury 3 years ago. Estelle enjoyed cooking, especially desserts and tending to her yard.
She is survived by two daughters, Diane H. Dest of Southbury and Linda Beckwith of Beacon Falls, five grandchildren, Hope Quartuccio of Wallingford and Kim, Alan, Julie and Sean, seven great-grandchildren, especially Sasha and Savannah and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Ann Cichanowicz, Agnes Hanna, Mamie Prezkop and Florence Loescher.
Visiting will take place on Tuesday May 26, 2015, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 10:10 am, her funeral will process to the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 am. Interment will follow in the family plot in St. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Derby.
