Evelyn Mary Johanson, age 80, wife of the late Herbert O. Johanson and resident of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest April 4.
She was born Aug. 15, 1935 in Derby, daughter of the late Arthur & Anna Fainer McManus.
A graduate of Ansonia High School, class of 1953, she worked for The Farrel Corp. and CT. D.M.V. until retirement in 1990. She attended The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia and St. Jude’s Church in Derby.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Kathleen Komar & husband Stephen, their children Jake & Thomas Komar, all of Ansonia and sister in law Shirley Erickson of Derby. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her son Herbert S. “Butch” Johanson, brother William McManus and brother in law Rodney Erickson Sr.
Friends may call on Wednesday (TODAY) from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia, CT. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, 10:00 a.m. (DIRECTLY) at The Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Entombment will follow in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery Mausoleum in Derby.
