Fernando Alvarez, 89, of Ansonia, entered into etemal rest on Tuesday, Jan. 5 at his home. He is the husband of lda Cappella Alvarez.
Born in So. Norwalk on July 14, 1931 son of the late Jose and Catalina (Crespo) Alvarez. He is a Veteran of the U. S. Army, communicant of the Church of the Assumption, a retired machinist for the Farrel Co., member of the Farrel Old Timers and the Joseph A. Doyle Senior Center.
Survivors besides his wife are son Joseph and his wife Claudia Alvarez of Tolland, daughter Anna and her husband Richard Teardo of Southbury, grandchildren Arianna Rose, Rachel, Lindsay and Tessa. He was predeceased by brother Jose Alvarez.
On Saturday, Jan. 10 at 10 a.m. a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Church of the Assumption. Entombment with full Military Honors will be privately held in Mt. St. peters Cemetery due to COVID-19. In lieu flowers, donation may be made to the Church of the Assumption in care of the Bennett Funeral Home, 91 N. Cliff St., Ansonia, CT 06401.
