Filomena (Petrazzuoli) Cusano, age 95, entered into eternal rest on January 25, 2022 in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side. She was the beloved wife of seventy-three years to the late Vincenzo Cusano.
Filomena was born in Ruviano, Province of Caserta, Italy on June 25, 1926, daughter of the late Domenico and Archangela Tamara Petrazzuoli. A resident of Ansonia since 1971, Filomena was employed as a Finisher for PVR Dress Company. She later worked as a housekeeper for Shelton Lakes Nursing Home until her retirement in 1990. Filomena cherished her time with her family and friends. She enjoyed tending to her garden and planting flowers. Filomena especially loved having family over for Sunday dinners and preparing homemade meals.
Filomena leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Josephine M. DiMatteo (Joseph) of Ansonia, a son, Dominic A. Cusano (Debra) of Ansonia, a sister, Gina Perrone of Ruviano, Italy, grandchildren, Robert DiMatteo (Paula) of Watertown, Louis DiMatteo (Paula) of Naugatuck, Sandra DiMatteo (Bernard McCarron) of Hoboken, NJ, Vincenzo Cusano of Milford and Maria Perella (Michael) of Uxbridge, MA, great-grandchildren, Nathan and Victoria DiMatteo and Madelyn Perella, along with numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Antonio Petrazzuoli and sisters, Rosalia Durante and Maria Cellelo. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Nancy and Dawn for being such loving caregivers and also to the staff at Seasons Hospice, especially nurse Donna, for their exceptional care.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday January 31, 2022, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Tuesday, February 1, 2022, her funeral will begin at 10:15 am from the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia.
