Flora Scasino, 98, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 15, 2016, at St. Elizabeth Home in E. Greenwich, RI. She was the beloved wife of the late Louis Scasino.
Mrs. Scasino was born in Ansonia on May 12, 1918, daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Mezzapelle. She was a lifelong resident of Ansonia until moving with her daughter JoEllen in 2001. Flora was employed at Sikorsky Aircraft for many years and enjoyed reading and gardening.
She is survived by a loving son, Larry Scasino and his wife Kathy of Oxford, a loving daughter, JoEllen Scasino and her husband Michael Norde of E. Greenwich, RI, a brother, Larry Mezzapelle of Wallingford and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Lili Ann Scasino, brothers, Joseph, Charles, Rollis and Richard Mezzapelle and sisters, Marie Petrazzuolo, Jane Sonsini, Anna Piazza and Dora Givano.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday September 19, 2016, from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service in celebration of Flora’s life will take place with Deacon Richard Renker officiating. Interment will be private.
