Florence M. (Blow) Balisciano, age, 95, entered into eternal rest on April 27, 2022, at Yale New Haven Hospital following a short illness. Married June 23, 1947, she was the beloved wife of the late Edward J. Balisciano Sr., who passed away on September 21, 2001.
Florence was born in Springfield, MA, on August 10, 1926, daughter of the late Roy and Eva Mombleau Blow. A lifelong resident of Derby, Florence was employed at AC Gilbert Toy Company in New Haven and later as a nurse’s aide at Griffin Hospital in Derby. Florence was a member and Past President of the former Grassy Hill Women’s Club and a communicant of St. Jude Church, both in Derby. Her hobbies included knitting and crocheting. Florence was happiest when cooking and baking for her family.
She leaves to cherish her memory, sons, James Balisciano (Betty) of Ansonia and David Balisciano of Derby, a daughter, Donna Laraway (Stephen) of Queen Creek, AZ, grandchildren, Patricia Balisciano of Shelton, Ashley Balisciano of Ansonia, James Balisciano of Naugatuck, Josh Balisciano of Southbury, Jayce Balisciano (Laura) of Monroe, Joel Balisciano of Naugatuck and Amanda Kling (Matthew) of Gilbert, AZ, along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sons, Thomas, Robert and Edward J. Jr. “Chuck” Balisciano, brothers, Louis, Paul and Gordon Blow, sisters, Madeline Ely and Rita Craig and grandson, Joseph Balisciano.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family and pay their respects on Thursday, May 5, 2022 from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the chapel of SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/ BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Her funeral will proceed to St. Jude Church in Derby for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. All are welcome to attend. Interment will immediately follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery in Derby.
