Florence Rollinson Robinson

Florence Rollinson Robinson, 101 years old, wife of the late Clarence Jumbo” Robinson and resident of West Haven and Derby, passed away Jan. 13. 

She was born June 29, 1917 in Shelton, daughter of the late William and Myra Archer Rollinson. 

She worked for the former Malley’s Co. in New Haven, Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, and as a home care aid to the former Superior Court Judge Munger. 

She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Derby. 

She was a 60-year volunteer as a Den Mother for The Boy Scouts of America Cub Scout Pack #3 of Derby, and member of The West Haven & Derby Senior Centers. 

She was also a literacy volunteer, former YMCA (New Haven) Woman Of The Year’ and Alderman Of The Month’ in New Haven. Survivors include two sons, James (Christine) Robinson and David (Frances) Robinson, her brother Robert Rollinson, grandchildren Christopher Robinson, Keith Robinson (and companion Suzie) Jeffrey, David & Dean Robinson seven great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. 

She was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters and many friends. 

Friends may call on Wednesday, Jan. 16 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. in Ansonia. 

Funeral service will be held Thursday morning, 9 a.m. at the funeral home. 

Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in West Haven. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to BSA Pack #3 in Derby.
