Frances A. Evans, 79, of Ansonia, entered into eternal rest on February 17, 2013, in the comfort of her home, with her loving family by her side.
She was the former wife of the late James “Skinny” Evans.
Mrs. Evans was born in Mamaroneck, NY on May 29, 1933, daughter of the late Michael and Mildred DiNardo Fosella. She was a graduate of Trappagen Fashion School in New York.
In her earlier years, she was employed as a fashion designer, designing hats, for Lilly Dache’ in New York City.
Frances also was a seamstress and enjoyed gardening, painting, the Italian opera, watching tennis, and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons, Michael J. Evans, James G. Evans, and Patrick T. Evans all of Ansonia, 2 daughters, Michele L. Walsh (Donald) of Bethany and Colleen M. Thomas (Keith) of Naugatuck, 2 brothers, Vito Fosella of Pond Ridge, NY and Anthony Fosella (Linda) of Herkimer, NY, a sister, Clem Amodio of Carmel, NY, 10 grandchildren, a great-grandson, several nieces and nephews and feline friend named Booboo.
She was predeceased by a sister, Marion D’Ambrosio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service on Friday February 22, 2013, at 12:15 PM (DIRECTLY) at Mount Saint Peter’s Cemetery Chapel, 219 New Haven Avenue, Derby, with Rev. Stephen Krugel officiating. Per Frances’s request, there will be no calling hours.
