Frances E. Raro, age 96, of Derby entered into rest on Monday, November 22, 2021 at West River Nursing Home. She was the devoted wife of the late William J. Raro, Sr.
Frances was born in Shelton on July 13, 1925, daughter of the late Anthony and Lucille (Cosciello) Vollaro and was a Derby resident for most of her life. She was the bookkeeper for the family business, Raro’s Automotive Center, for many years.
Frances was the beloved mother of Sharon Coppolo and the late William J. Raro Jr. She resided with Sharon and her husband Allen for 35 years. She was the sister of Charles Vollaro, Robert Vollaro, Lucille Roog and the late Anthony “Butch” Vollaro Jr. and Lillian Raro. She was the beloved grandmother of Brian Coppolo and Daniel Coppolo and was also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. Family and friends are required to wear masks. On Wednesday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 11:00 am for her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 AM at St. Mary Church. Her burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter Cemetery.
