Frances (Kudej) “Pani” Miklinevich

Frances (Kudej) Pani” Miklinevich, 79, formerly of Seymour, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday morning January 16, 2013, at Hewitt Health & Rehab in Shelton. She was the beloved wife of the late Alexander Miklinevich.

Mrs. Miklinevich was born in Derby on Sept. 15, 1933, daughter of the late John and Helen Gola Kudej. She was employed at the former W.E. Bassett Co. in Derby. She attended St. Michael’s School and St. Michael’s Church in Derby where she had the honor and distinction of crowning the statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Frances continued this tradition at her own home in Seymour, allowing neighborhood children and nieces to crown her Blessed Mother statue in her yard every May 1st. Frances enjoyed listening to polka music. In her earlier years, she would attend Polka dances in the Valley area, where she met Al, her husband of fifty years. They were a beautiful couple on the dance floor. She also enjoyed swimming and hosting pool parties. While living in Seymour, she attended St. Augustine’s Church in Seymour.

She is survived by a loving daughter, Therese M. Nivison and her husband Steven of Middletown, three brothers, Walter, Louis, and Frank Kudej of Derby, three sisters, Alfreda Levinsky (Stanley) of Middlebury, Gladys Kwiatkowski of Meriden, and Helen Knapp (George) of Seymour, whom was very devoted to Frances, a cherished grandson, Alex Nivison of Middletown and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Chester, Edward and Benjamin Kudej and a sister, Ann Kowalczyk.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday January 18, 2013, from 5 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia.

On Saturday, friends and relatives are invited to attend her memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am (PLEASE MEET DIRECTLY) AT St. Michael’s Church, 75 Derby Avenue in Derby. Private interment will take place in the spring in St. Augustine’s Cemetery in Seymour.
