Frances L. Kohanski, 97, of Ansonia, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 7, 2015, at Birmingham Health Care in Derby. She was the beloved wife of the late Frank Kohanski.
Mrs. Kohanski was born in Ansonia on March 9, 1918, daughter of the late Marcel and Frances Kramkowski Tyszka. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, she was employed as a seamstress. Frances was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Ansonia. She took great pride in her home and loved to travel.
She is survived by two sons, Robert F. Kohanski Sr. (Maxine) of Spring, TX and Kenneth W. Kohanski Sr. (Suzanne) of Beaufort, SC, a devoted sister, Irene J. Kennedy of Ansonia, grandchildren, Kenneth Kohanski Jr., Gregory Kohanski-Russo, M.D., Michael Kohanski, L. Schemen Kohanski and Robert Kohanski Jr., great-grandchildren, Taylor and Chelsea Kohanski and Lauren Phillips and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and Frank Tyszka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday September 10, 2015, at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church in Ansonia. Visiting will be held from 9:00 am until the procession leaves for church in the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. Interment will take place in St. Michael Cemetery in Derby.
