Frances M. DeLand, 94, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday March 23, 2022 with her loving family by her side.
Devoted wife of the late Hubert C. DeLand. Frances was born in Bridgeport on November 29,1927, daughter of the late Frank and Matilda ( Brosch) Miller. She resided in Bridgeport most of her life and worked for Machlett Labs in Stamford. Upon Hubert’s retirement they resided in Florida until his passing in 1983. She returned to Connecticut to live with her daughter Gail and in 1986 moved to Shelton.
Frances was a member of Lady Martha Chapter of Eastern Star for over 50 years and also a member of Huntington Congregational Quilters Circle. Her favorite pastimes were reading, quilting, making wedding cakes, folk art and crocheting. What she cherished most was time with her family and friends.
Frances was the beloved mother of Richard DeLand and wife Elisa, Gail Piche, Susan Edwards and husband Larry. Grandmother of Mathew and Keenan DeLand and Joshua Nolting. Great grandmother of Emma, Violet, Ethan, Jaxson and Skyla DeLand. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Miller, sister Evelyn Timko and grandson Jason Piche.
On Thursday, March 31st friends may call from 4 – 6 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Rd., Shelton. A brief service will follow there at 6 PM.
