Frances Terlizzi, age 97, a lifelong Derby resident, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Wednesday April 22, 2020 in Shady Knoll Nursing Home.
She was born in Derby on October 7, 1922 the daughter of the late Charles and Louise (George) Terlizzi.
She was the owner and operator of Vonetes Palace of Sweets and was recognized as an icon in and around Derby.
She was very active in Democratic Politics in town and also volunteered three days a week at Sunflower Dental in Derby.
Ms. Terlizzi is survived by her nieces Judy Terlizzi, Susan Shugrue, and Linda Tanuzzi, her nephews Charles Terlizzi, Anthony Montefusco, and Robert Montefusco, her grand nieces Jill Shugrue, Taylor Terlizzi, and Megan Montefusco, her grand nephews Connor Shugrue, Brian Terlizzi, and John Montefusco, as well as several great grand nieces and nephews and great great nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Armond Theodore Terlizzi, Arthur Terlizzi, and Mary Montefusco.
Due to the current health crisis, Ms. Terlizzi’s burial will be held privately in Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery with her immediate family present.
A memorial mass at St. Mary’s Church will be held on a date to be announced. Her funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby.
