Francis (Frank) J. Zuba, age, 65, of Derby, entered into rest, on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, in Bridgeport Hospital.
Frank was born in Derby on October 14, 1948, son of the late Stanley W. and Stella (Poslusny) Zuba, and has been a lifelong Derby resident.
He was a teacher at Derby, Shelton, and Seymour High Schools throughout his career and then went on to work for the US Postal Service in Norwalk for 17 years. While teaching, Frank influenced many students lives while coaching Football at Derby High School and Girls Basketball at Shelton High School.
He was an avid sportsman and fisherman, especially loved deer hunting. His hunting trips included, Idaho, Montana, Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska. Frank was a member of Highland Golf Club, and was involved in the setback league, the AM Club and was involved in the Bocci League and he was a past member of Harwinton Fishing and Game. He loved to watch UCONN Football and UCONN Women and Men’s Basketball games, fishing at Deerfield River in Mass, his favorite spot and playing cards with his friends.
Frank is the beloved nephew of Stephanie Poslusny, Katherine Kosobiecki, Henry Zuba (Lorraine), Helen Zuba, and the late Walter Zuba. He is the cherished cousin of Ron Zuba (Philomena), Richard Orzel, (Stephanie), Cynthia Duggan (William), Marcia Orcutt, (Stephen), Roberta Gammons, (Richard), and Linda Barbeau (Anthony), and also leaves several nieces and nephews.
Friends may greet his family on Friday from 3:30 to 7 PM in the Edward F.Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby. On Saturday his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 AM for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Michael Church, Derby. Burial will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
