Francisco “Frank” G. Netto, age 75, of Derby entered into rest on Monday October 2, 2017 at Apple Rehab Shelton Lakes. He was born in Bridgeport on September 25, 1942 the son of the late John G. and Perpetua (Sequeira) Netto.
Frank served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Following his time in the armed forces, he began his working career as a printer at the former Derby Printing. He would move on to become the manager of Valley Bowl in Derby for many years. He also worked as a groundskeeper for ten years at Griffin Hospital and then as a Concierge at Avalon for ten years before his retirement. Frank was an avid bowler and enjoyed sharing his passion for the sport by teaching junior bowlers some of his tips and tricks. He also voluntarily served as an Auxiliary Police Officer for the Derby Police Department.
He is survived by his daughter Kathy Slowik and her husband Ron, his son John Netto and his wife Janine, his grandchildren Samantha Bailey and her husband Dominic, Nicholas Slowik, Benjamin Slowik, Anthony Slowik, Ty Netto, Rylee Netto, and Max Netto, his twin sister Perpetua G. Festa, his sisters Ermelinda G. Fereira and Eleanor G. Videira, his former spouse Diane Netto, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers John G. Neto and Daniel G. Netto, and his sister Maria G. Marguy.
Friends are invited to greet Frank’s family on Wednesday October 4 from 3 to 6:30 pm in the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby. His funeral service with military honors will be held in the parlor at 6:30 pm. Online condolences can be left for his family at www.adzimafh.com.
