Frank Baranowsky, Jr.

Frank Baranowsky, Jr., age 67, of Milford, suddenly entered into rest on Thursday February 6, 2014 in Milford Hospital. He was the devoted husband of the late Homa Hashemian Baranowsky.

Frank was born in Derby on August 16, 1946, beloved son of Frank Baranowsky, Sr. and the late Helen (Plaskon) Baranowsky, and was a Shelton resident for most of his life until moving to Milford 14 years ago. Frank served his country in the US Army, completing one tour of duty, during the Vietnam War. He was employed for 44 years with AT&T and retired as a supervisor just 4 weeks ago.

Frank graduated from Shelton High School as a member of the class of 1964. He went on to obtain his Bachelor Degree in Business from Southern CT State University and his MBA from University of New Haven.

He was a 30 year member of the Blue Kights, and a member of the VFW, American Legion Sutter Terlizzi Post #16, DAV, Derby Lodge of Elks 571, Russian American Citizen Club and the King Hiram Lodge #12 AF&AM.

Frank was a proud father of four daughters, Tanya (Emad) Sabbagh, Stephanie Speed, Kristin (Derek) Buratczuk,and Erica Baranowsky. He is the stepfather of Frederick (Elaine Nada) Hashemian and Lily (Ben) Schaeffer.
Frank was the cherished brother of Sharon (Nick) Biela Filipowich, Janet (Peter) Hershman, and the late Arlene Kaleta. He also leaves nine loving grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may greet his family on Sunday from 2 to 6 PM in the Riverview Funeral Home 390 River Road Shelton. A Parastas Service will be held at 5:30 PM. On Monday his funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:15 AM for a funeral service at 10:00 AM in The Three Saints Orthodox Church, 26 Howard Ave. Ansonia, military honors will follow the church service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Shelton.
