Frank C. Butler

Frank C. Butler, 88, of Derby, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday evening, August 20, 2011, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Yvette Albert Butler. 

Mr. Butler was born in New Haven on October 19, 1922, son of the late William and Marie Gherkins Butler. A resident of Derby since 1947, he worked as both a self-employed and Union Painter until his retirement. He served as the Business Agent for Painter’s Union Local 99 and enjoyed flower gardening. Mr. Butler was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during WW 2. 

In addition to his wife Yvette, he is survived by four loving sons, William Butler (Patricia) of VT, David Butler (Mary) of Southbury, Bruce Butler (Victoria) of Orange, and Brian Butler (Carrie) of Ansonia, three loving daughters, Carlene Sauer (Fred) of FL, Jolene Sheehy of Derby, and Marlene Fiallos of Ansonia, three sisters, Mary Carey and Margaret Owens of FL and Anne Saddig of East Haven, 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Darrin A. Butler, a granddaughter, Diane Sauer, two brothers, William Butler and Thomas Bob” Butler, and a sister Jane Butler. 

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, August 22, 2011 (TODAY) from 4 – 7 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. At 7:00 pm, a funeral service and celebration of Frank’s life will take place. His burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions to the Connecticut American Parkinson’s Disease Association, 27 Allendale Drive, North Haven, CT 06473 or through the funeral home. The family sends a heart-felt thank you to the staff of Griffin Hospital and CT Hospice, especially Dr. Kathleen M. Chaisson, for their excellent care gives during Frank’s illness.
