Frank J. Dzienkiewicz

Frank J. Dzienkiewicz, 93, of Ansonia, entered into rest on December 31, 2011, at CT Hospice in Branford. He was the beloved husband of the late Mildred Koltko Dzienkiewicz. 

Mr. Dzienkiewicz was born in Ansonia on March 31, 1918, son of the late Michael and Anna Dzienkiewicz. A lifelong resident of Ansonia, he was employed at BF Goodrich and Anaconda American Brass until his retirement. A proud veteran, he honorably served during WW 2 as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He has the distinction of successfully completing 61 missions as a bombardier. Frank was also a watch maker and a member of the Central Subalpi Club in Ansonia. 

He is survived by two loving daughters, Frances A. Weksler of Ansonia and Jean Villaire of Reseda, CA, a granddaughter, Rachel Weksler-Gaffney of Pinedale, WY, a grandson, Alex Villaire of Reseda, CA, two great-granddaughters, Amelia Day Gaffney and Naomi Adeline Gaffney, a sister in law, Gloria Dzienkiewicz of Ansonia, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Stanley Dzienkiewicz. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral on Saturday January 7, 2012, at 9:15am from the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Church in Ansonia. Interment with military honors will follow in St. Michael Cemetery in Derby. Visiting hours will be held on FRIDAY from 4 – 7 pm.
