Frank Joseph Persico, Sr.

Frank Joseph Persico, Sr., age 89, beloved husband of Mary Ann Huzi Persico of Ansonia, died peacefully on June 17, 2025 at the Shady Knoll Health Care Center, surrounded by his family. 

Born in Derby on March 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Mary Violante Persico. Mr. Persico was a lifelong resident of Ansonia, a 1953 graduate of Pine High School and a Communicant of the Church of the Assumption. 

He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran of the Korean War. Following his military service, Mr. Persico was employed at Sikorsky as an Assembler / Trainer for 38 years, until the time of his retirement in 1996. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Together with his wife, they traveled the United States and cruised Alaska and the Caribbean. 

In addition to his wife of 66 years, he is survived by his devoted sons, Frank Persico, Jr. and his wife, Cheryl of Shelton, Kenneth Persico and his wife, Elise of Naugatuck and David Persico and his wife, Barbara of Beacon Falls; sister, Marilyn Davila and her husband, Felix of Beacon Falls; brothers, Salvatore Persico and his wife, Linda of Orange and Ronald Persico and his wife, Shelly of FL; cherished grandchildren, Michael, Daniel and Nathan Persico; Kenneth Persico, Jr., Angela, Marissa, and Amanda Persico; and Kristen and Stephen Persico; as well as 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, JoAnne Carlino.

Family and friends may call on Thursday, June 19, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00PM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place on Friday, June 20, 2025 at 9:00 AM from the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM in the Church of the Assumption, 61 North Cliff Street, Ansonia.
