Gail Barnum Adler, age 77, of Shelton peacefully entered into rest on Saturday, December 23, 2023, in her home with her family by her side. Gail was born in New York, NY on August 20, 1946, daughter of the late John Pierpont Barnum Jr. and Janet (Crawford) Barnum, and she lived in Shelton for over 53 years.
She worked as an administrative assistant in corporate and legal settings before her retirement. Gail enjoyed sewing and quilting and was accomplished at both.
She is the beloved mother of Janet Adler, Ginny Adler, and Kenneth Adler and his wife Janet Orlando-Adler, and the proud grandmother of Ashley Virginia Adler, Erin Gail Adler, and Tanya Diane Adler. She also leaves her brothers John P. Barnum III and his wife Jacquelyn, and David M. Barnum and his wife Anne, nieces Leah Maurer, Chrissy Barnum-Kahn, and Jenna Griffiths, and nephews Mathew and Ian Barnum.
Friends are invited to greet the family at the the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth Street, Derby on Friday from 10 to 11 AM. Her funeral service will begin in the parlor at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Huntington Lawn Cemetery East in Shelton.
