Gail M. (Gaetano) Filipowich, age 53, of Cheshire, entered into rest on Sunday, May 26, 2013 at the Griffin Hospital with her loving family by her side.
She was born in Derby, on July 15, 1959, daughter of Thomas Gaetano, Sr. and Maryann (Bryce) Gaetano.
Gail was a Valley resident until moving to Cheshire in 1989.
She worked for the Visiting Nurses Association of South Central CT before becoming the Intake Specialist for the Masonicare Home Health and Hospice in Wallingford.
Gail enjoyed the summertime and the beach. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.
She is the loving mother of Zachary and Tyler Filipowich, sister of Beverly Tontini (Joseph) and Thomas Gaetano, Jr. (Rose) and several nieces and nephews.
Gail is also survived by her former husband Mark Filipowich, several close friends and her cat Nala.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 – 8 p.m. at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby.
On Thursday, her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at St. Jude’s Church.
Her burial will follow at Mt. St. Peter’s Cemetery.
