Gary “Bubba” M. Creevy, age 75, beloved husband of Mary Ann (Mankauskas) Creevy of Seymour, CT left this earth on May 30, 2025.
Born in Waterbury, CT on May 31, 1949, he was the son of the late John and Janet (Glidden-Spear) Creevy. Mr. Creevy was a proud U.S. Airforce Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving overseas at Osan Air Force Base, South Korea. Following his military service, Mr. Creevy worked as a computer programmer for several financial institutions including CT National Bank, Bunker Ramo, Telekurs and Six Financial.
While employed with Telekurs, he worked on the Y2K Task Force (Laughing at the fact he was working overtime on December 31, 1999, with absolutely nothing to do). “Bubba” enjoyed sports of all kinds; he was a NASCAR enthusiast and fan of Rusty Wallace, a Masters Tournament enthusiast and fan of Chichi Rodriguez and Greg Norman; a football enthusiast and fan of Michigan State and the Baltimore Colts; and especially enjoyed watching UCONN Men’s & Ladies Basketball. A devoted family man, he cherished time spent at the shoreline home of his daughter and son-in-law, feasting on tomahawk steaks with a view of Long Island Sound.
In addition to his spouse of 56 years, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey Creevy and his daughter Denise (Creevy) Cole and her husband, Edward “Ted”, all of East Haven; a brother, John “Jack” Creevy and his wife Judy of Keene, New Hampshire; a nephew, Kyle Creevy of Lebanon, NH; nieces, Allison Sprague of Manchester, NH and Beth DeYoung of Keene, NH. Mr. Creevy was predeceased by a sister, Pamela (Creevy) Potts.
Family and friends may call on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Wakelee Memorial Funeral Home, 167 Wakelee Avenue, Ansonia. Funeral services will take place at 10:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Mount Saint Peter Cemetery, Derby.
