Gary John Flach

Gary John Flach, age 73, a longtime Oxford resident, entered into peaceful rest on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Griffin Hospital with his beloved and devoted wife of 36 years, Dana D. (Raymond) Flach by his side.

He was born in Derby, CT, on September 19, 1951, the beloved son of the late Melvin and Eleanor (Haversat) Flach. 

Gary’s employment included working at Kerite Co., G.E. and Farrell Co. He then became the owner and operator of High Meadows Excavating LLC of Oxford. He also worked for Guerrera Construction of Oxford. He was a graduate of Seymour High School, Class of 1969. Gary was a life member of the Quaker Farms Volunteer Fire Company of Oxford, which included being Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief and he was also the Chief for 12 years. His dinner outings and casino trips were among his favorite activities. He also always looked forward to trips to New Hampshire. Gary was an avid sports fan, his go-to-teams were the NY Giants, NY Yankees, and UCONN Women’s Basketball.

Gary will be sadly missed by all but will remain forever in our hearts. 

In addition to Gary’s beloved and devoted wife Dana, he was the proud and loving father to his devoted son Brian J. (Rachel) Flach of Rockland, MA, Gary’s loving family also includes, his uncle Raymond Haversat (Ann Tricarico) of Oxford, his sister-in-law Elizabeth Flach of Oxford, his two nephews Matthew Flach (Jill) of Seymour and Michael Flach of Oxford, his great-niece Savannah Flach of Oxford, also survived by several cousins. Gary was predeceased by his brother Mark (Flash) Flach in 2023. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Mauriello along with the ER and ICU Units @ Griffin Hospital, CHF Wellness @ Griffin Hospital and Diahann Wilcox, APRN and her team @ UCONN Health, as well as Barbara Scarpa, APRN and Dr. Jock Lawrason, we are grateful for all the exceptional care Gary received while in your care.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, March 21, 2025 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm in the chapel of The Miller Macari Family Funeral Home, 260 Bank St. (RT. 67, across from Klarides Village) in Seymour. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gary’s memory may be made to the Seymour Oxford Food Bank or Seymour Food 2 Kids, through the funeral home.
