Gennaro Nocerino, age 85, entered into eternal rest on November 26, 2017, at Griffin Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Vincenza Laudiero Nocerino.
Mr. Nocerino was born in Naples, Italy on January 31, 1932, son of the late Nicandro and Annunziata Raiano Nocerino.
A resident of Ansonia since 1974, he was employed as a mechanic at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford for many years until his retirement. Gennaro was a veteran of the Italian Army and enjoyed vacationing at the beach, making home-made wine and especially spending time with his family.
In addition to his wife Vincenza, he leaves to cherish his memory, loving daughters, Nancy Zanfardino (Jack) of Seymour, Anna McDonald of Ansonia, Maria Durante (Richard Frakes) of Las Vegas, NV and Rita Mirmina (Mark) of Bethany, eleven cherished grandchildren, a great-granddaughter and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers, Raffaele, Ciro and Pasquale Nocerino.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday November 29, 2017, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Thursday, relatives and friends are invited to meet directly at 10:00 am at Holy Rosary Church in Ansonia for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
