George Bilinski

George Bilinski, 78, most recently of Shady Knoll Health Center, Seymour, formerly of Ansonia passed into eternal peace on April 23, 2016 after long enduring Parkinson’s Disease. 

George was born on March 9, 1938 to Thomas and Sonia Anne Bilinski of Orange, CT

He was a devoted husband to Rita Gardella Bilinski from 1959 until her death in 1998. 

He is survived by four siblings, Thomas Bilinski of Boyton Beach, FL, Jean Nunn of Conway, AR, William Bilinski and Roberta Hyatt of Orange, CT; and four children: Elizabeth, of Seattle, WA, Robert and Margaret of Beacon Falls, CT and James of Middlebury, CT. He was a beloved grandfather to Aliya and Benjamin Bilinski of Seattle, WA and Anna Marie Bilinski of Middlebury, daughter of James and Anita Bilinski. 

He attended Hillhouse High School, New Haven, CT, where he played varsity baseball and lettered on the swim team. He also attended the University of Connecticut. He worked as a journeyman roofer for over 45 years at Shelton Roofing Company, and Barrett Roofing. He was a 50 plus year member of The Charters’ Hose volunteer fire company, on whose teams he bowled and played softball. He was an avid saltwater fisherman. In his later years, he would often be seen walking all over the Naugatuck valley and surrounds. He continued to bowl on a senior league in Milford and attended Silver Sluggers baseball group at the Derby Public Library. 

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday April 26 at The Jenkins King & Malerba Funeral Home, 12 Franklin St. Ansonia. (www.jenkinskingfh.com) Memorial services will begin at 6:30 p.m.
