George Dunne—Retired Derby Police Officer

George Tyrrell Dunne, age 78, of Derby entered into rest on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at St. Vincent Medical Center. 

He was the husband of Judith (Imperato) Dunne. 

George was born in New Haven, on October 19, 1938, son of the late William and Camille (Donahue) Dunne and was a lifelong Derby resident. 

He was a Derby Police Officer for 26 years until his retirement. 

George was a member of the Adriatic Marchegian Club, Storm Engine Company #2 and former member of Lafayette AC Club and Derby Elks Lodge #571.

George is the father of Rick Dunne and his wife, Diane, Cory Bartone and her husband, Rick, and Kelly Pelham and her husband, Kevin, grandfather of, Mark Cammarata, Jr., Gemma Cammarata, Ricky Bartone, Jr., and Ali Dunne, two sisters, Carol Esposito and Sharon Gesner and her husband John. 

He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, including two special nephews, Michael Esposito and his wife, Lynnette, who he considered a son, and Allan Esposito, godfather of Camie Cassin and David Esposito. 

Friends may call on Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.at the Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St., Derby. 

On Saturday, his Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, Derby.
