George Gustafson, age 78, of Oxford, the beloved husband of Dorothy Gustafson, entered into rest peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Johnson Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Darien on October 9, 1936, son of the late George and Hannah Butler Gustafson.
George was a Mechanical Designer working for several companies including Perkin-Elmer. He proudly served his country as a Submariner with the United States Navy. George was a long time resident of Oxford who enjoyed working with his hands and making many things for family and friends. He will be sadly missed by all.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, his loving family includes his two sons Scott Gustafson and Keith Gustafson, both of Oxford, his brother Warren Gustafson and his wife Edith and his dogs Jordan, Mini and Care Bear. He was predeceased by his son Eric Gustafson and his brother John Gustafson.
Visitation in Celebration of George’s Life will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2015 from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm in the Chapel of the Miller-Ward Funeral Home, 260 Bank Street (Rte. 67 across from Klarides Village), Seymour. All other services are private and at the convenience of the family.
