George J. Colwell, age 86, of Derby entered into rest on Thursday September 3, 2015 in Birmingham Health Center, Derby.
He was the husband of the late Eileen Colwell.
George was born in Derby son of the late Antoinette and Harry Colwell Sr.
He was a lifelong resident of Derby and avid Derby sport fan. He served in US Army for two years stationed in Germany.
He was predeceased by a son George Henry Colwell, a step daughter Tammy Bissonette, a brother Harry Colwell, Jr.
He is survived by 2 granddaughters Jessica and Robin Bissonette, two sister Margaret Falbo of Seymour and Jean Gowel of Ansonia and several nieces and nephews.
His burial service will be private. The Edward F. Adzima Funeral Home, 253 Elizabeth St. Derby, are entrusted with the arrangements.
