George J. Kozak

George J. Kozak, age 90, peacefully entered into eternal rest on September 2, 2018, at Griffin Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He was the beloved husband of sixty-five years to Genevieve Jane” Kozak. 

Mr. Kozak was born in Ansonia on May 7, 1928, son of the late Michael and Anna Tener Kozak. A lifelong resident of the Ansonia community, he was employed as a welder for Farrel Corp., the former B.F.I. and later was the owner of George’s Welding. He was also a supernumerary police officer in Ansonia for twenty years. A proud veteran, he honorably served in the U.S. Marine Corp. during WW 2 and Korea and was a member of American Legion Post 50.

In addition to his wife Jane, he leaves to cherish his memory, loving daughters, Mary Jane Boladz (Henry) and Cynthia Ryall (William) of Ansonia, a brother, Franklin Kozak of PA, cherished grandsons, William Ryall III of Stratford and Christopher Ryall of Shelton, great-grandson, Parker William Ryall, brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael D’Alessio (Elaine) and Anthony D’Alessio Jr. (Gayle) of Ansonia and several nieces and nephews, especially Theresa Smith of NY. He was predeceased by brothers, William and Peter Kozak and a sister, Lillian Tall.

Visiting hours will be held on Thursday September 6, 2018, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm in the chapel of the SPINELLI-RICCIUTI/BEDNAR-OSIECKI FUNERAL HOME, 62 Beaver Street in Ansonia. On Friday, his funeral will begin at 9:15 am from the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at the Church of the Assumption in Ansonia. Interment with U.S. Marine Corp. honors will take place in Mt. St. Peter Cemetery in Derby.
